Sermon Series: Do Unto Others
Our world seems to be consumed with division. Rather than choosing to stay divided, the Golden Rule in scripture challenges us to engage in conversation and seek to create whatever common good we can with everyone we meet, regardless of our perceived differences.
As we attempt to come together, the idea is not that we are trying to change each other, but rather we discover the beauty that can be created when we work together to make the world a better place. The “purple space” is where we cultivate kindness, compassion, humility, respect, and love for one another and for the good of all the world.
As part of this sermon series, we invite you to use this devotional journal [PDF] for personal study. All are invited to the Building Bridges discussion on October 27 at 3 p.m. in room C, which will focus on the lessons learned in this sermon series using the devotional journal as a guide. Building Bridges is a monthly time when we gather to have respectful conversations over the ways we are different, and yet called to be one in Christ.
